One of the rules on this site is;

Advertising of sites, affiliate programs etc. that have nothing to do with Glorify-God is strictly prohibited.

yet at another forum (I won't mention the name because I follow the rules!) this was posted;

16740. Glorifying God online
by GlorifyGod, 4/3/04 13:34 ET
I'd like to invite anyone who might be interested, to join the Glorify God online community. It is Christian/Catholic in nature, but all are welcome to share their views! http://community.glorify-god.com

It has forums with discussions like the ones here and they're grouped into sections like : Apologetics, Pro-Life, Married Life, Singles, Current Affairs, Faith Sharing, Vocations & Prayer Requests.

God bless,

Melody

Is this not a wee bit hypocritical?

Hi atheist1,

Being an admin, one of the things I'm very particular about is observing rules.

The post that you mentioned was posted by me after checking out to see if there were any rules at that community against posting such invitations. You may be surprised but many communities even have separate forums for ads & such!

Thank you for clarifying your doubt!

I usually sign my posts with "Blessings", but seeing as you don't believe in God,

May you be filled with Peace & Love,

Melody

I understand that... I was just curious as to why this forum would not allow such posts and yet turn around and post on other forums... even if they do not restrict spam... no bother here... I just thought it was interesting... now, let's go talk about something else  Cheesy

Well, if you put it that way it does sound hypocritical ! But I guess the way I see it is that one must follow the rules of each forum as is.

This applies to other areas of life too. I live in India. It is a custom in many people's homes to take off one's footwear & leave it at the entrace to the home (this probably has something to do with the dirt & dust which is plentiful here  Sad )

However many of these same people when they go to others homes which do not have these customs, do not take off their footwear.

Hypocritical? Not really. Sometimes it's a bit of a non-issue! I take my footwear off at some friends homes & have no issues they have their footwear on at my place! You may feel it a bit so or interesting to say the least, but it's a way of life really.

We all follow each other's little rules & everyone's happy Smiley

Looking fwd to you sharing your view at the other forums here!

Peace,

Melody
