Day of Fasting

There are many souls who need the grace of God.  Fasting is mentioned in Scripture as a means of penance and humility.  Our Lady at Fatima asks us to sacrifice for the conversion of sinners.

Would anyone in this community be willing to join me in a day of fasting (or some other sacrifice) and prayer for the intentions of this Community, the conversion of sinners, and that God may show us how to glorify Him in all we do?

I saw this done in another online community I participate in.  We could pick a day and do it.

Yes! What a lovely idea. I suggest Tuesday (don't ask me why, just popped up). Anyone with another day, do share!

Def! Have been doing this anyway. If we're all fasting & praying together, we can lift our prayers up in one spirit no matter what the distances are that separate us.

Please go through the Prayer Intentions from the website too, esp. the latest one, from a Vinoo Chari.

Amen to that brother! May this day of fasting and prayer bring us all together & closer to our wonderful Heavenly Father, Christ Saviour & Holy Spirit Lord.

Maybe, if anyone's interested we could also have a system of accountability where we sign in our fasts publicly which would prompt us not to forget/miss the fast for any reason.

I am flexible, but Tuesday sounds like a good day to me.

I saw the Prayer Requests.  Vinoo certainly needs the grace of God in his life right now.

There are so many of our brothers and sisters who need help.  That realization and the fact that I personally seem so insignificant in their struggles is humbling.  

I pray that God may give to everyone the strength and blessings that they need.

Anyone else want to join us on Tuesday as a day of prayer and fasting (sacrifice) for our brothers and sisters in the world?

There are a lot of troubling things going on in the world right now.  In fact, there always are.  The only solution is God.  Let's all offer up our prayers and any sacrifices (no matter how small) for the conversion of sinners.  This doesn't have to be a formal thing, just keep our suffering brothers and sisters in the world in your thoughts and prayers throughout the day, if you can.  

If we can do that, I think we will be moved to further prayer and sacrifice in the form of redemptive suffering so God's grace may bless the world.

Yes, there certainly are. Imagine all those who don't know whom to turn to when they need help? All those who don't even know the Name Jesus?

Family, I hope you ALL are praying for the intentions of this family & those who write to us. Even if you don't post here, do at least say a small prayer when you read the prayer request like "Father bless this person" or "May the Lord's will be done in this person's life" or "If it is your will Lord, let this person be healed" etc.

As for the fasting, there are many ways one can fast:

(01) Skip just one meal
(02) Offer a 12 hour fast (i.e. maybe from 7am to 7pm)
(03) Fast from dinner one day to dinner the next day.

Always remember to PRAY at the time you're fasting.

Just a reminder that all are welcome to join us in fasting and praying (or making other personal sacrifices) and making an extra effort to perform good works for the glory of God every Tuesday.  We do this in faith and love for the intentions of this Community and for the world.  

I personally have been remiss in this.  If anyone remembers on Monday, send me a reminder.

I recommend Tuesday, for the intentions of this Community.  That's just an idea.  If anyone prefers a different day or has a special request for intentions, I'm all for it instead.  Let me know if any other ideas come to mind.  Otherwise, let's do Tuesday together.
