Hello All,

Please remember me in your prayers this week as I prepare for my ordination to the priesthood.  On the morning of June 5th I, along with three others, will be ordained for the Diocese of Savannah (here in the U.S.).

Thanks and God bless,
-Rev. Eric

Pre-Congratulations Rev Eric!  You are certainly in my prayers.  Do you know your first "assignment" yet?

Dear Rev. Eric Smiley

Next time I greet you, it'll be Fr. Eric Smiley PRAISE THE LORD!!!

I will fast and pray for you during the day on the 5th. My parents are celebrating their 30th anniversary (actual date 2nd June) on that night & so I'll celebrate with you & Jesus on this side of the world.

I also promise to keep you in my prayers during this week.

Now, I shall break into song...

"Oh what a glorious glorious day, a day I shall never forget...." HALLELUIA

I'm really all excited Smiley

Thanks everybody for your prayers!  As you can imagine, this has been the most wonderful weekend of my life.  I was ordained a priest on Saturday morning within the context of an absolutely beautiful liturgy.  That evening my parents hosted a great dinner which turned into a huge family reunion.  This morning I celebrated my first Mass at my home parish, and they threw a fabulous reception afterwards.  At this time the reality of the whole thing about me now being a priest has not completely sunk in yet.

My first assignment (starting on July 1st) will be at St. Joseph Parish in Macon, Georgia - a very big and beautiful church with a school.

God bless,
-Rev. Eric
