Thank you Melody for your prayers and support! After six years of seminary training I am now an ordained priest of the Catholic Church. As a matter of fact, my hometown newspaper ran an article on me which is available online at:

)
The past two weeks have been a very great time for the Diocese of Savannah. Five transitional deacons were ordained last weekend ("transitional" means that they go on to become priests next year) and a total of four of us were ordained to the priesthood yesterday. That's a lot for my diocese!
Here is the link for a news story about everybody that was ordained, including a little slide show of all of us.
http://www.savannahnow.com/stories/052904/2197582.shtmlI can still use the title "Rev. Eric" in the Community. Technically, my title as a deacon was "Rev. Mr." but I have been simply using "Rev." in anticipation of my ordination to the priesthood, and to avoid any confusion that would happen if I suddenly changed my user name. But it is fine if you and others want to call me "Fr. Eric." In the U.S., "Rev." is a priest's formal title and "Fr." is an informal title.
I am not someone who is caught up with formality, but I know that some Protestants posting here would be uncomfortable with calling me "Fr. Eric" (due to the bible passage concerning "call no man 'father'"), so I have been using "Rev. Eric" to be more ecumenically-minded.
Melody, may God continue to bless you in your own ministry!
God bless,
-Rev. Eric
