Hey Ravi Smiley

Your question is a very valid one. There are many people who knowingly or not deceive others with wrong teachings about the Catholic Faith. One such person is Rick Jones, author of a very misleading book called "Understanding Roman Catholicism". Rather than help people really understand Roman Catholicism, all he wants is for people to turn away from the Church. He does this by misquoting the CCC (Catechism of the Catholic Church) & the Bible to suit his ideas.

This community has suceeded in proving many of his (& others like him) points wrong & untrue.

We discussed the whole Mother Mary v/s Jesus saving issue here.

As always, feel free to revert & clear any further doubts.

Blessings,

Melody

Hello again Ravi,

I'm not sure what you mean by "glorified" with respect to Mary.  Certainly she has not been glorified as Christ is glorified.  Yet, she has been blessed and honored by God in ways unique to other human beings.  Scripture tells us that God honored and blessed Mary greatly by choosing her to carry His son in her womb.  Catholics acknowledge this. Catholic teaching also states that she is a creature and is in no way equal to her Son Jesus.

Quote
Luke 1:28

And he came to her and said, "Greetings, favored one! The Lord is with you." (NRSV)

Other translations make this "full of grace", "highly favored," "having been bestowed grace," and "one having received grace."  Some manuscripts add "Blessed are you among women!"

Quote
Luke 1:41-45

When Elizabeth heard Mary's greeting, the child leaped in her womb. And Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit and exclaimed with a loud cry, "Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb. And why has this happened to me, that the mother of my Lord comes to me? For as soon as I heard the sound of your greeting, the child in my womb leaped for joy. And blessed is she who believed that there would bee a fulfillment of what was spoken to her by the Lord." (NRSV)

Mary is truly blessed by God.  She is the mother of our Lord.  It is all due to her son, yet God chose her.

Quote
Luke 1:46-49

And Mary said,
"My soul magnifies the Lord,
and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior,
for he has looked with favor on the lowliness of his servant.
Surely, from now on all generations will call me blessed;
for the Mighty One has done great things for me,
and holy is his name. (NRSV)

Her soul magnifies the Lord.  God has done great things for her.  All generations will call her blessed.  Catholics fulfill this passage when we honor her.  We honor her, not worship her.

Some of this is already discussed in the links Melody provided.  I just wanted to add that Scripture does indicate that Mary was blessed by God in a special way.

God bless!
