Do you think it is possible to evaluate a belief system ? Just as we can evaluate things in the physical dimension of our world.

Hi Ravi,
Your question directly or indirectly asks whether one can evaluate Faith. Just as any other abstract thing (eg:- Love) can't be measured, similarly Faith can't be measured.
Rather, one can ask,  "What is the Truth?".
Maybe, the experts can answer better.
God Bless!

Hi Ravi,

Satish made some good points.  I personally think that belief systems can and should be evaluated (i.e., tested) to see whether they are true or not.  The object of any belief system (as I see it) is to bring humans to an understanding of reality.  This brings up a couple questions though, what objective truth do we use to test whether a belief system is "true."  Maybe Thomas Aquinas covered some of this.  The bottom line is that objective truth exists (scientific and moral).  The key is discovering, understanding, and believing the truth, IMHO.

Faith seems to be related to this.  We all want to believe the truth, and we all want what we believe to be true, to be true in fact.  But faith seems to be something that can be relative.  Many people believe in very different things.  Yet, the truth is true whether one believes it or not.
