Hi All,

In Acts 9, we see that Saul is persecuting the church. Then he hears Jesus's voice "Why are you persecuting me, Saul?".

There were many who persecuted the Church or for that matter even today.
Why could only Saul hear the voice of Jesus?

God bless!

That passage refers to an extroidnary vision.  Actually, the other men travelling with Saul DID hear the Voice (though they did not see the blinding light) - see vs. 7.

I wish that Jesus would grant a similar experience to EVERYONE who persecuted His Church, but, alas, He has left the bulk of that conversion work for US to do.

Hey Satish, interesting question.

I unfortunately do not have any answer other than - we cannot understand God's ways.

My personal opinion is that God reaches out to EVERY individual (He's our Father after all!) and probably MORE to those who are away from Him... Jesus came for the sinners not the righteous.

Maybe He doesn't speak with an audible voice, like He did with Paul, but through other people, situations etc. And maybe the problem is that we're not hearing Him well enough?

Also coming back to Paul, the way I figure, God knew Paul's heart. And though he (Paul) was persecuting the church, he was doing it with the right motivation - he really was enthusiastic about Yahweh & wanted to follow Him closely.

If people have the right motivation but do something wrong, I believe God will somehow work things around for their good. Rom 8:28

Blessings,

Melody

Yahweh CAN speak to anyone He wants, adn when He WANTS, we will hear, whether we are believers or not.

Yahweh often speaks to us, but we do not LISTEN to Him, or we do not do what HE WANTS.

He speaks to me, and sometimes I hear Him - I wish I would PAY ATTENTION more often. When He speaks to me it is enlightening.

This may be referred to as "divine inspiration" or "divine revelation".
