Read:Luke 18: 1- 8

Reflect: It is not only the materially poor and the suffering who turn to God in prayer. People from all walks of life do.  Infact, we must all turn to God aware of the emptiness in us which only God can fill.  True faith is often best reflected in a prayer of humble acceptance.

At the end of our life and at the coming of the Son of Man, how will our prayer and our Christian faith be judged?  The test of our faith and the prayer which flows from that faith, is the absence of fear and the joy which marks our lives.

Respond:
Q.1 What is the relationship with prayer and faith ?

Q.2 What caused you to quit praying at sometime?

Q.3 If Jesus met you would he find  the faith he desires?

Q.1 What is the relationship with prayer and faith ?

I believe the relationship is a crucial one - "be it done to you as you believe"...

Q.2 What caused you to quit praying at sometime?

Well, praise God, I have never stopped praying due to lack of faith. Sometimes it's laziness that prevents me from praying or overwork. It boils down to a lack of a disciplined prayer life. I have recently revamped my sched. to get up early every morning & to go to chapel (Blessed Sacrament) for an hour.

Q.3 If Jesus met you would he find the faith he desires ?

The 'spiritually correct' answer would be to say 'NO' I guess... but I think (honestly) that where I'm at right now, I have as much faith in Him as I can. I believe that's all He desires from us - as much as we can.

I however also know that my present quota of faith is not enough and hope and prayer that it will improve. Amen.

Blessings,

The more faith & trust in God you have, the more effective your prayers.

I honestly can't remember a time when I rejected the idea of praying...  Even a few years ago when I felt my faith slipping, I prayed to God to help me, and He did!

Gee, I don't know, but I would hope so!  LOL  Wink

Q.1 What is the relationship with prayer and faith ?

They feed off each other.  Prayer helps faith grow and faith strengthens prayer.

Q.2 What caused you to quit praying at sometime?

Spiritual laziness and materialism.  I wouldn't say that I totally quit praying, I slowly forgot to pray.  I was too busy with carnal things and became complacent in my faith.  My prayers gradually became prayers of selfish petition.

Q.3 If Jesus met you would he find the faith he desires?

I pray that He does, but He probably wouldn't.  I think He will, only as much as He finds Himself in me.
