This is another of the claims made in the email I received from a Muslim apologist:

Quote
ALLAH (MAY HE BE GLORIFIED AND EXALTED), COMMANDS IN HIS AYAT:
“MUHAMMAD IS NOT THE FATHER OF ANY MAN AMONG YOU, BUT HE IS THE MESSENGER OF ALLAH AND THE LAST (END) OF THE PROPHETS.” (AL-AHZAB: 40)
EVEN THOUGH IT’S REVEALED IN THE BIBLE, CHRISTIANS SAY:
“WE DO NOT RECOGNISE ANY PROPHET AFTER JESUS.”
THEY DO NOT EVEN BELIEVE IN THEIR OWN BOOK.
WHAT KIND OF RELIGIOUS CREED IS THIS?

Later in the email, it is revealed where this statement comes from:

Quote
Revelations of the Last Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) in the Bible:
Over the years, the holy bible given to Jesus (PBUH) by Allah (may he be glorified and exalted) has been adulterated by the words of men, yet in spite of its current tarnished state, it still retains some signs, which tell of the coming of the last prophet Muhammad (PBUH).

But I tell you the truth: It is for your good that I am going away. Unless I go away, the counsellor will not come to you; but if I go, I will send him to you. When he comes he will convict the world of guilt in regard to sin and righteousness and judgement. (John 16:7-8)

I have much more to say to you, more than you can now bear. But when he, the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all truth. He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and he will tell you what is yet to come. (John 16:12-13)

If you love me you will obey what I command. And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another counsellor to be with you forever- the Spirit of truth. (John 14:15-17)

But the Counsellor, the Holy Spirit, whom the father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you. (John 14:26)

When the Counsellor comes, whom I will send to you from the Father, the Spirit of Truth who goes out from the Father, he will testify about me. (John 15:26)

These are the words of Jesus (PBUH) according to the Bible recognised, accepted, and believed in by Christians the world over, today. They attest to two very vital points: that Jesus (PBUH) gave his disciples the news of the coming of a greater prophet than himself; and that he told them that they must adhere to him. It also describes his worth and great virtues.

Anyone have insightful replies to this?

WOW!! .. how the Devil tries to discourage, but  he cannot.. muaaahahaa  cheesy

I wrote so much and then my session timed out  .. oh well.. here we go again  *breathe*

I shall just summarize what I wrote by saying

READ I CORINTHIANS 14
Quote
"1Follow the way of love and eagerly desire spiritual gifts, especially the gift of prophecy. 2For anyone who speaks in a tongue[a] does not speak to men but to God. Indeed, no one understands him; he utters mysteries with his spirit. 3But everyone who prophesies speaks to men for their strengthening, encouragement and comfort. 4He who speaks in a tongue edifies himself, but he who prophesies edifies the church. 5I would like every one of you to speak in tongues,[c] but I would rather have you prophesy. He who prophesies is greater than one who speaks in tongues,[d] unless he interprets, so that the church may be edified. "

there are prophets amongst us today .. not just one but many who bring us the Word of God to edify the church.. but beware of false prophets in the end times (which we are in now) who search to destroy the body of Christ with false teachings

also in regards to the scriptures used to  support the Muslim belief of the prophet Muhammad coming after Jesus.. well nowhere  does it say that it would be a prophet , but rather
Quote
"the Counselor, the Holy Spirit, whom the father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you. (John 14:26)"

May God bless you with the the eyes to see and the ears to hear the truth in these times of great confussion and testing

Gigi,

Wanted to officially welcome you to our little family here... and then I read this post of yours where you said:

I think that's just so amazing Smiley Have been there, had that a couple of times too (need to increase time on login to avoid this problem, which I sometimes forget!) & I think it's just so amazing that you answered with an "oh well"... praise God girl, let no one and nothing discourage you!

Blessings,

Melody

As Christians we need to realize that Mohammed was not a prophet of Yawheh, and he certainly was not the human form of the Holy Spirit, becuase the only human form of Yahweh (who is part and parcel with the Holy Spirit and Jesus) is "the angel of the Lord/God" of the OT, and Jesus of the NT, who are probably one and the same.

THe Holy Spirit is the "active" part of Yahweh, the Spiritual action of Yahweh which we may reconize as miracles, healing etc. and the voce of Yahweh (that we may 'hear" in our ear or mind), or it may be what we refer to as our conscinece/mind (which is the Spiritual part of our mind/thought process).

I think we need to be extremely careful trying to reconcile Muslims with Jews and Christians, because I belive Muslims (due to the fact they do not belive Jesus is Yahweh, and due to the fact that "Allah" is based on the pagan religions of the ancient Middle East) are not part of God's Chosen.

If (big if) the thoughts I recently had were as I believe "divine Revelations" from Yahweh, then I believe some radical Muslims are actually part of the "forces of evil" aligned with Satan.

As far as I am concerned Muslims are not of the same mind as Jews and Christians when it comes to the question of "who the One and only God is". It is Yahweh, not Allah.
