I'm gonna go out on a limb here & make a really terrible statement - I pray none of the family takes offense - but sometimes it seems to me that the United States of America have more people off their rockers than sane ones.
It's like whenever someone finally says something sensible there are a million other people to shoot it down with some great "reason" or the other.
All it does is shows how far removed the people are from God.
In my country, though values are changing for the worse, at least abstinence from sex before marriage is widely promoted and lots of self appointed watchdogs oversee the values being promoted through television advertisements, movies etc etc. It does sometimes go to the other extreme & curtails our freedom of speech... but on the whole at least it's morally upright.
Just my personal opinion, no disrespect to anyone in particular. In fact I'm glad if you prove me wrong.
Blessings,
Melody

And now-a-days, freedom of speech is used as an excuse to justify saying anything.. Every freedom comes with a corresponding responsibility, and assumes that people are sensible enough to exercise it effectively..

Well said Royston.
No offense taken by me, Melody. In fact many Americans feel as you do. That's what we're fighting here. The good news is that the common American
seems
to be getting fed up. It's the ones off their rockers who seem to have the biggest mouths and the most money, but that is changing.
The sad thing is, that the view that most people outside the US get of America is from our entertainment industry which doesn't share the same values that most Americans have.
The last election has been touted as a victory for traditional values, but the fight rages on...

- I guess you're right - most ppl just get a wrong perception of the States fromyour ent. industry. This community itself proves that there are a lot of good morally upright people in the States
To end,
let's fight the good fight
...
Blessings,
Melody

Amen to that sister.
Each of us have our own battle to fight in the global war against evil.
Some of us risk our jobs, some our health, some our friends or social standing, and others risk life and limb to stand for the truth.
