Should you be a catholic to have a leadership in a Catholic  church? For example conducting retreats in a Catholic church or for the people?

Is there a procedure like baptism through which a hindu, protestant or anyone else can become a catholic?

One becomes a Christian through Baptism with water and the Spirit in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit for the remission of sins.

It doesn't matter if one is Protestant or Catholic, this is the same baptism.  To formally enter the Catholic Church and receive the Eucharist, a Protestant would first receive instruction and profess to believe the Catholic faith.

Those who are not baptised (such as a Hindu) must receive instruction in the Faith and then be baptised into Christ.  They may receive all the sacraments of initiation (Baptism, Eucharist, and Confirmation) the same day.

These are the mechanics of becoming a Catholic Christian, but one cannot just go through the motions.  One must truly believe and profess the Catholic faith as true in order to become Catholic.

That helps.

If a person born as Jacobite, and parents Jacobite says he believes Catholism because he attended Divine Retreat Centre, and heard to Fr.Mathew Naikom. What he should do? Should he renounce his belief of orthodox christianity, and join a Catholic Church to unite with Christ?

Dear jesusandyou,

The Jacobite (or Indian/Malankara Orthodox Church) holds many of the same beliefs as the Catholic Church, to my understanding. I'm not sure that there would be a need to renounce the beliefs that are currently held because many of them are the same as the Catholic Church.  The primary obstacle to full communion with the Catholic Church for a Jacobite is probably recognizing the primacy of the Pope as the successor of St. Peter.

The best thing to do is contact a holy priest from the Catholic Church who can answer all your questions and help bring you into full communion with the Catholic Church.
