Greetings One and All,

I am Eric Filmer, a deacon for the Diocese of Savannah who, God willing, will be ordained to the priesthood June 5th of 2004.  Currently I am finishing my seminary studies at St. Vincent Seminary in Latrobe, PA (home of Rolling Rock Beer  -  the town, not the seminary).  I currently have a B.A. in Psychology, M.A. in Systematic Theology, and will soon complete a Master's of Divinity.

I am 37 and a convert to the Catholic Faith (I'm a former Episcopalian, and have also spent a good bit of time in Methodist churches).

I am a fan of the late great Archbishop Fulton Sheen and I routinely listen to the lectures of Fr. John Corapi and Fr. Benedict Groeshel.  I also enjoy the writings of Peter Kreeft and C.S. Lewis.

In terms of music I like a lot of Contemporary Christian stuff, especially Keith Green, Rich Mullins (God rest both their souls), Geoff Moore, Third Day, Jennifer Knapp and Jars of Clay.  In more secular areas I like America, Chicago, Boston, Cat Stevens and Ellis Paul.  Oh yes, and Irish folk music - lots of Irish folk music!

Favorite novel - Lord of the Rings (I've read it about six or seven times).

I am glad to have come across this forum and I will try to check in with it as often as I can.  Unfortunately, the demands of seminary can be very time consuming and my time on the internet is often limited (and I expect the same will be true in my future post-seminary ministry).

God bless,
-Rev. Eric
