I visit other forums as and when time permits, though between work, family, the Glorify God website, our Community and trying to have some social life, I hardly have too much time for that Wink

Today being a relatively free day I got a chance to both visit some other forums & also chip in my two-cents worth on topics I hadn't yet answered over here.

What I noticed, to my delight was:

At one other forum (the name of which I will not mention) there were members arguing with each other, calling each other names, each one demanding that the moderators ban the other etc.

I also noticed here at our community, we, as any family does, have lots of different views to share. They aren't necessarily short (!! some are far from it) and are often on topics that could be potentially "argue-worthy".

Yet, I was highly delighted (as I've already mentioned!) to note how our members truly behaved like family.

Ayodhya has to be commended - he the lone Christian posting in a Catholic board. I appreciate that while he holds fast to what he believes in and questions what Catholics believe in, he also seems to respect what we've been saying in response - even looking foward to it sometimes I think! I quote from the Apologetics forum:

Quote
Thanks Tina for putting your views across. That leaves Rev Eric and Melody to cross their divine swords with me.

and again (another topic, same forum):

Quote
Thanks Rev Eric and Tina for this clarification. I am amazed by the considerable research you have undertaken to justify your point. I will spread this message among my other non-catholic christian friends.

I also appreciate all our other members interacting so positively with him & each other by sharing personal views & Catholic Doctrine without making a contrary opinion turn into a personal attack.

Kudos to the lot of you!

We truly are a great family  Cheesy

Blessings,

Melody

This really is a great forum.  As long as we all keep the love of Christ in our hearts it will continue to be so.  Since we're dishing out compliments, I need to add my bit.  I've come to respect Ayodhya.  His posts always make me ponder and get me into a search for the truth (I do enjoy the Google Wink  ).  And of course, I think of Rev. Eric and Tina as mainstays of this growing community. I always learn something reading their posts (usually prompted by Ayodhya Wink ).  And let's not forget Colin! I guess I too am coming to think of you all as a kind of online family. Can't wait to see more posts from the growing number of new members.

There is some name calling and labelling that takes place in other forums.  It seems that when that happens, there is no real communication (and charity?) going on. Hopefully, we can avoid that here.  Keep us in line Mom (i.e., Melody)! Cheesy

P.S.  I think I'm beginning to understand what the ninja-guy afro  is all about.

I've also read/posted on some other debate-type boards, and it's rare to find one where members respect each others' views.  Usually if there's a lot of name-calling, "flaming", or just outright nastiness going on I'm outta there pretty fast Wink, because that's just not pleasant, and all it is is arguing, no real listening, discussion, & respectful debate going on.

I certainly have found a respectful community here, and I hope that we continue grow in the Spirit, expressing Christ's understanding love for each other.  I also always find myself learning & pondering as a result of others' posts, which I think is a healthy way to grow spiritually.  Of course, Ayodhya always has something to say, and I always have fun exploring my faith as a result of his questions & responding to him as well... Cheesy

Let's keep growing!

Cheers,

Tina

Mummy's very happy with all her children,  afro  &   cool  alike!

Seriously: I had Fr. Martin K. (highly annointed, director of Divine Delhi Ashram, sister concern of Potta, Tabor etc.) bless the website when he was down in Mumbai last week. He (along with a team member & me) also prayed on our knees, in tongues & other prayers for all of you in our family.

Am going to continue to do all I can to give you guys the best  Smiley

May the Peace of Christ be with all of you,

Melody

Hello One and All,

Obviously I am quite pleased with the Glorify God Community, judging by the the amount of my participation.  Unfortunately, I probably spend more time here than I should (given the requirements my studies place upon me), but I really do enjoy engaging in these discussions and reading everyone's input and insights.   Cheesy

And let me offer to Ayodhya a blanket "thank you" for the kind words and affirmations you have expressed in various parts of this forum.  Although your initial posts usually carry a "charged" negative criticism of Catholic teaching, I understand that this is your style to stimulate discussion.  Over all, it is obvious that you are interested in knowing how Catholics explain their faith.  This is a refreshing chage of pace from the anti-Catholic antics that I have witnessed in other forum boards.

I can only hope and pray that the overall respectful air of the Glorify God Community continues as the enrollment increases.  The outright flaming and complete lack of etiquette on many other boards make them downright depressing to read and participate in. huh

God bless,
-Rev. Eric
